Survivor

２カ月程前にPIの地雷を踏んでから、厳しい立場が続いています。

データをまともにみてくれなかったり、説明を聞かずに捲くし立てられたり、という日々に少々疲れ気味の毎日ですが、

先日はさらなるショッキングな出来事が……

 

夏頃、私につけてもらえると言われていたテクニシャンを、今回、別のポスドクに宛がうと話されました。

「えっと、前は私にって言われてたけど……。」

と反論してみましたが、PIからは

「私はそんな事は言っていない。あなたはまだテクニシャンをつける前にやるべきことがある。」

との返事。

テクニシャンがつけば今手掛けている諸々の仕事がだいぶ進むかもと期待していたのですが、残念です。

とは言いますが……

人がやる気を失うのは、”目の前の出来事にショックを受けた時” というよりは、”将来の展望に限界を感じた時” なんだなー

と、しみじみ思いました。

まあ、当たり前のことかもしれませんが。

夫が数カ月前に「研究をやめる」と言った時も、これと似たような気持ちだったんじゃないかと思います。

 

 

すんなりと気持ちが切り替えられないのが自分の未熟さを痛感するところですが、

まあ、私が今すべき事は、己の待遇に嘆く事ではなく、目の前の課題に粛々と取り組む事だという事は分かるので……

とりあえず昨日はDestiny's ChildのSurvivorを繰り返し聞きながら手を動かしていました。
